Virginia Housing Authority Photos
One day I visited the Virginia Housing Authority offices in Roanoke to ask if they had any old photos of the African American neighbourhood that had been torn down during urban renewal. I was led to a cluttered closet where an employee pulled out a box full of slides. I took the slide to Virginia Tech and had them digitized. The find I made was unbelievable: Color photos of a neighbourhood that had been torn down during urban renewal.
Here's the complete collection.
