Kisumu
Just a few days before I visited Kenya in 2016, I discovered that Kisumu, Kenya is a sister city with Roanoke. So, I decided one of the things I wanted to do when I got to Kenya was visit Kisumu and find out what I could about the relationship between the two cities. I ended up staying a week and making this video.

I had semi-high hopes that I could come away with a re-invigorated relationship between the two cities. I did end up meeting with a lot of local leaders and got to see the plaques addressing the sister city relationship in Kisumu's city hall. But nothing really came of my time there unfortunately.
