archive

I have an extensive archive of articles, maps, photos and the like of subjects I find intriguing. I've been doing this for a number of years because I simply enjoy learning about things. Here is a very short list of some subjects I've archived to different extents:

BC: I've spent a fair amount of time organizing my own timeline of ancient history. Its easy to get wrapped up in our worlds and forget that humans or something similar have been making tools for around two million years.

Conspiracy Theories: If you are a student of underground politics for any length of time you are going to encounter some groups of people who believe the most amazing things.

Generation X: I'm part of a generation that was named after a late seventies punk band. Its been funny and annoying to read what the media thinks about all of us.

Economics: I never thought I'd be interested in something where the writing is so dry but the far reaching effects of economic theory makes for some intriguing reading.

Existentialism: Probably one of the most profound and misunderstood -isms of the twentieth century. For more go to philosophy on academics page.

Literature: Haven't really archived literature to a great extent but I have collected a lot of books over the years. Some of my favorite writers are:Honore de Balzac, Jack Kerouac, Fyodor Dostoyevsky, Ambrose Bierce, George Orwell, Henry Miller, Jacques Ellul, Francois Rabelais, Lao Tzu, Friedrich Nietzsche, Kurt Vonnegut, Larry McMurty and Lenny Bruce.

Situationism:The situationists were a group of artists and intellectuals who were organized mostly in Europe from the fifties till the seventies. Their writings are a tough read but their ideas are amazing and the political graphics they produced are powerful.
